The NCD Mobile Phone Survey aims to leverage the widespread use of mobile phones for frequent data collection and rapid data dissemination and use to complement existing in-person surveys. The survey uses standardized methods, which enables trends over time and facilitates cross-country comparisons. NCD Mobile Phone Survey data can also be compared to household surveys such as WHO STEPS.


There is a growing trend in timely and discoverable access to health data. Open data can accelerate innovation and empower decision-making. An open data policy is therefore critical to enable informed decisions and direct resources to specific public health priorities and programs.
